Lake Harmony Estates News
LHEPOA imposes a $500 fine for using fireworks in the Estates.
Fireworks are considered to be both fire and safety hazards. LHEPOA prohibits the use of fireworks in the Estates and fines the property owner $500 for each instance. And, there are no warnings! This is a "zero tolerance" policy, which means that it applies to all types of fireworks; sparklers and the like are included.
Kidder Twp. imposes a $1,000 fine for using fireworks without permit. Fireworks are illegal in Kidder Township ["The use of fireworks is against the law under the CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KIDDER, PENNSYLVANIA, PART II: GENERAL LEGISLATION, CHAPTER 102: FIREWORKS"] without a permit, with fines of up to $1,000 for each violation of the law ["102-7. Violations and penalties"].
Gas powered boats and PWCs on Lake Harmony are controlled by stickers. The owners of Lake Harmony (the Lake Harmony Estates Property Owners Association, the Lake Harmony Association and Vacation Charters Ltd., dba The Resort at Split Rock - collectively known as the "Lake Harmony Group"), recognizing the potential for growth in our township, instituted a program on May 1, 2007, requiring stickers on gas powered boats and personal water craft (PWCs) on Lake Harmony.
- Owners must purchase and display a boat sticker on each gas powered boat and PWC for use on the lake. The annual fee is $50.00 for each boat/PWC. - Renters/guests must obtain temporary stickers: a. $25.00 for 7 consecutive days or less b. $50.00 for more than 7 consecutive days Fees support a Lake Harmony security/safety patrol, which monitors boating on the lake.
The Lake Harmony Group administers this program. It is in no way intended to restrict authorized use or rights to Lake Harmony, but to ensure that all gas powered boats and PWCs on Lake Harmony have the right to be there. It is designed to prevent unauthorized persons from launching their boats/PWCs on Lake Harmony and to promote safe use of this already over populated lake. To obtain a boat sticker, contact the Lake Harmony Group: lakeharmonygroup@verizon.net, or call them at (610) 703-7975, or send your request by mail to PO Box 341, Lake Harmony, PA, Zipcode 18624-0167.
Safety Patrol volunteers keep an eye on things:
Did you see that flashing yellow light pass by your property last night? Chances are, it was one of our Safety Patrol volunteers - driving through the Estates, checking for anything unusual (e.g., one spotted a Grinder Pump warning light on). And, they found people who had open fires, claiming that they didn’t know that only fires in approved containers are permitted in the Estates.
